Upgradation of skills

Vocational education and training if geared up to the needs of the job market, can contribute to a great extent to the economic empowerment of women which is an important pre-requisite for improving their status. Vocational training is imparted with the objective of making underprivileged girls and women self-reliant both emotionally and economically.

VRCT is giving skill training in computers, tailoring and fashion designing, and beautician courses. Each course is of 6 months duration. After completion, examinations are held and certificates awarded. Many of the trainees start working even during the training period. After training, they are self-employed or they work in factories, boutiques, parlours, and even do house visits. Apart from earning a livelihood, they gain confidence and their status in their families gets enhanced.
